ai: apathy international?

Is posting/linking/nicking campaign pictures of amnesty international a political statement? Or is it stealing the ideas of others to make your site look flashy? Does it mean anything apart from admiring the well done, linkable, and therefore almost forgettable artwork?

Does it have a postive effect on ai or are the passive strains, that the internet is promoting, taking the overhand?
Is this the new idea of activism?

I can´t help noticing that the pre-olympic outrage has really died down as soon as the chinese marketing campaign (Tibet and the torch) went off the air.

What´s left to say about ai?! Join! and Donate! cause some things hurt more, much more than cars and girls.

(cheap attempt at self-made, nerdy ad which blatantly nicks a picture and (ab)uses it for something else)
