Tomorrow Museum has a great article about The world´s strangest housing communities.
Losts of ballardian examples of future housing for the rich who increasingly retreat into gated communities, that resemble luxurious versions of high-security prisons.
In these environments you can´t be sure if the inhabitants are trying to keep the outside from getting in, or if they are actually locking themselves away from the world, drawing the curtains while watching live-footage of their own CCTV-cameras.
The abandoned space-age resort in Taiwan, which I mentioned here is also featured.
Great read, great site!
...Oh, and "what is house?"
